Last year my wife and I got invited to Richard Branson’s “Rock The Kasbah” charity event. It was our first REAL black tie event we’d been to with actual celebrities. (Ya, we saw Paula Abdul, Sharon Stone, the “Sham-WOW” guy, and more…!)
Anyway – at the end of the event, they had an auction where you could bid on different things, and the money went 100% to Eve Branson’s Kasbah charity.
I looked at all of the stuff, and the only thing that seemed cool was you could name a virgin airplane after yourself.
Ya, how cool is that!!!
So, I decided to bid on that. Unfortunately, I got into a bidding war with Real Estate infomercial guru Dean Graziosi who apparently lost the same auction the year prior.
$20,000… do I hear $25?
$25… do I hear $30,000?
I decided to set my mark at $45,000 and not go above. When I said $45,000, I hoped that he would stop, but he was like a man on a mission. He yelled out $50,000…!
My wife looked at me, and gave me that look… like if you spend more then $50k to get your name on a plane, then you’re going to have to find another wife.
So I sat down defeated…
That’s when Richard Branson got up and said, “we’ve actually got 2 planes – if you’ll bid $50k also, then we’ll give you BOTH a plane!!!”
Well, I’m always a sucker for a deal… AND the money was going to a great cause, so I said ok, and 30 seconds later someone took this (now infamous) picture:

You can see Richard with his broken arm, Dean in the background and a model of the planes we’d soon have the opportunity to have our names on them.
Well, it took almost a year, but last month we got an email with the first pictures of “DotComSecrets Air!” Check them out here:
On the last one you can see the plane number. It’ll be on this plane for the life of the plane – so if any of you DotComSecrets fans can get a pic of you with this plane, I’ll send you an awesome gift!
Thanks!
Russell Brunson
