I’ll bet you could walk into just about anyone’s home and find a refrigerator magnet with an advertisement on it. Maybe it’s for a heating and cooling company, or the local pizza place.
Whatever it is, we’ve all seen them, and it’s a great way to advertise long-term. Someone may not need your services now, but when they do, they’ll know where to look!
This idea works great for local companies, but what about internet businesses?
Good options and ideas are few and far-between, but I did find one the other day. The Glazer-Kennedy Company has created these really cool mouse pad/calendars. They’ve included all of their important dates for seminars and they have product promotions on each page. It’s an excellent way to reach their customers long-term and provide them with updated information.

At DotCom Secrets, we’ve also done a mouse pad that promotes the “Zoobie” cartoon we’ve created. We have the zoobie.tv website printed on each one and that reminds people to check the cartoons often for new videos and tips. The mouse pad is a fun and easy way for us to reach out to our customers and it’s free for them when they attend our seminars or purchase a product.
So whether it’s a calendar, web cam, mouse pad, magnet or anything else, make it useful for your customer and something they’ll be consistently looking at. Be creative and have fun with it! Use any of these examples, or create your own, to generate long-term branding for your company.

Hi Rusell,
Without doubt a very useful idea, you could offer any amount of freebies to give away. As you say items like fridge magnates and mouse mats are things that get used every day. As long as the free item is a useful and frequently used like pens and so on. Brand awareness is essential as many large companies will tell you, but small companies and individual Internet Marketers can benefit to in many ways as well.
What about your own name branding!
I know that you for example Russell use you’re very well known name as your own brand, and this is what many IMs aspire to. Do you have some tips that you can share with us about your promotional efforts in the early days and what advice would you give to newbie’s and intermediate IMs
Thanks for the read.
Bill

Very important, but not everyone is thinking long term
when thinking about their branding...
hopefully, after reading this post more people will
start thinking long term when building their brand...
Better and better!

wow, this is a really good idea. i've never thought of this in terms of long-term marketing. may be something i integrate into my offline business. on the internet we tend to get so obsessed over the 'now' that we fail to forget the power of the long term!

This is one of the coolest site I have ever laid my eyes upon! This trick about the giveaways and freebies is a must-try. I am thinking about other things people use everyday, both in their home and in their office. I hope my business will soon be a household name. Wish me luck!
